WWE Have Extended Drew McIntyre’s Deal
WWE have quietly extended McIntyre’s deal.
After WrestleMania 39, McIntyre took a hiatus from the company and was said to be banged up physically. There were many reports about his status with the promotion, and his impending contract expiring in the next year.
While speaking to the Hindustan Times, McIntyre noted that he doesn’t plan on going anywhere else than WWE when his contract does expire.
Now, Fightful Select reports that McIntyre’s deal was extended due to the time off Drew took earlier this year.
As it so happens, in asking WWE sources this week whether there had been any movement on signing McIntyre to a new deal, we were told that the company had been mostly focused on finalizing the Endeavor WWE acquisition so there hadn’t been much, if any movement. We were also told that the company had rushed to lock McIntyre into a new deal as they had time to work on it, with one source noting that with McIntyre having taken time off earlier this year, there was additional time added to his contract. Internally, the company has McIntyre now locked in until around Wrestlemania 40, so that now gives the two sides in the area of seven months to finalize a new deal

McIntyre is currently in the process of working out some kinks with his new tag team partner on RAW, Matt Riddle.
We will have to wait and see if McIntyre will indeed stay where he is signed to now.
