Matt Riddle Dealing With Double Ear Infection, Bronchitis Amidst JFK Airport Incident Investigation

Matt Riddle is dealing with a double ear infection and bronchitis after his recent incident at JFK airport.

While travelling back from WWE Superstar Spectacle in India, Matt Riddle got involved in an incident that he first brought attention to on social media by accusing a police officer from the airport of sexual assault.

However, the incident turned out to be completely different as the officers were called to the scene as a “highly intoxicated” Riddle refused attempts to de-escalate the situation and the incident became physical. Over the weekend WWE confirmed they were investigating the incident.

Riddle was pulled from RAW and this weekend’s upcoming live events yesterday, and many suspected it had something to do with the investigation however, during Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Matt Riddle didn’t make the trip for RAW this week due to illness and his missing the show was not a punishment.

“He was not on the show this week, but that’s because he had a double ear infection and bronchitis. It was not punishment as far as I know. He may have been punished also, but as far as I know, it’s an illness.”

As mentioned, despite efforts of officers to de-escalate the situation, the incident got physical. We will have to wait and see how WWE address the matter and what form of punishment Riddle may receive for the incident.

As noted, Riddle was returning after competing on Superstar Spectacle in India.
