The Rock’s WWE SmackDown return last night was all down to Triple H.
On last night’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown, The Rock would make his explosive return to the WWE to confront Austin Theory.
In the segment, The Rock would verbally eviscerate Theory, leading a round of “you are an asshole” chants that lasted quite a while, leading to Pat McAfee remarking that the show is only two hours.
Nick Hausman of WrestleHaus reports that the segment was “all Hunter”.
I’m told the opening #Smackdown segment with The Rock, Pat McAfee, and Austin Theory “was all Hunter.” It sounds as if Triple H produced the opening quarter hour on his own with no Vince input.

The segment is already doing incredible numbers on YouTube, and many fans were delighted with the segment. We will have to wait and see if this continues to be the norm for big segments under Endeavor.
