The Rock’s SmackDown Segment Went Long, Other Segments Had To Be Edited
On this past Friday’s SmackDown, The Rock would make his explosive return to the WWE to confront Austin Theory.
In the segment, The Rock would verbally eviscerate Theory, leading a round of “you are an asshole” chants that lasted quite a while, leading to Pat McAfee remarking that the show is only two hours.
The segment went around twenty minutes and was a last minute addition to the show.
Ringside News reports that the segment ran “very long” and Triple H and others were to blame for the segments length.
A tenured member of the WWE creative team told us that The Rock’s segment ran very long. We were also told that the blame for that segment going long, and having to edit things for the rest of the show is “on Triple H, Bruce Prichard, Ed Koskey and Ryan Callahan for not figuring that out in advance.”

The segment is already doing incredible numbers on YouTube, and many fans were delighted with the segment. We will have to wait and see if this continues to be the norm for big segments under Endeavor.
