Vince McMahon Viewed The WWE Board’s Investigation Into Him As An Act Of Disloyalty
Vince McMahon viewed the WWE Board investigating him as an act of disloyalty.
Vince McMahon has been under tremendous scrutiny from fans and peers in the industry since it was announced that McMahon was under investigation by the WWE board of directors regarding hush money payments to former talent and staff regarding sexual misconduct.
Now, a new article from The LA Times has provided some new information on the investigation and subsequent resignation by Vince McMahon.
Lahoud said, “It wasn’t aligned with my way of seeing what governance is. There was a misalignment with what my values are.”
“He’s the kind of person who expects loyalty,”
“He said, ‘OK, do whatever you guys need to do. I’m not going to stand in your way.’ Of course, when the board said, ‘Well, you know, we think you need to step down,’ he wasn’t happy about it, but he did it.”

Of course, McMahon would force his way back into the company at the beginning of this year, leading to many fans and talent alike angry at his actions.
Now, McMahon has sold the WWE to Endeavor, but remains in a high place of power within WWE, something he likely would not have been able to hold onto if he had not sold the company.
