Matt Hardy Says AEW Morale Is “Really High”
Matt Hardy comments on the state of AEW’s morale.
It has been a tumultuous couple of weeks regarding CM Punk. At AEW All In, Punk was involved in yet another backstage altercation. However, this one would be different than those in the past in various ways. Namely, Punk not only fought with Jack Perry, he also reportedly lunged at AEW president Tony Khan while furiously quitting the company.
These events would leave Khan no other choice but to fire the Chicago native with cause, despite Punk’s drawing power and status as the companies “real world’s champion”. Punk has yet to comment on the matter.
Since then, several AEW names have commented on the morale and backstage atmosphere improving, including the likes of Chris Jericho.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy ahead of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, the AEW star noted his excitement about the way the company has entered a new era.
“It’s a new era for AEW, and I think it’s a good era where we’re not really gonna be necessarily having the split rosters and split shows, but I think they’re going to kind of work more in unity. There’s going to be a unison between these two shows, and people are gonna tell stories between them, and I think that’s a good thing to keep all options open. So I’m excited about this new era. Morale is really, really high. Everybody’s happy. It’s a great team effort. Everybody’s working together. There’s no one there that is unhappy. So it’s a good time to be a part of AEW, and I’m very excited for what the future holds,”

We will have to wait and see if AEW can keep the morale of their roster high in the coming weeks.
