Matt Cardona Defeats Maki Itoh To Retain DDT Universal Title

Matt Cardona remains the DDT Pro-wrestling Universal Champion.

Cardona with Steph De Lander defeated Maki Itoh at the DDT Pro-Wrestling Who’s Gonna TOP? event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on September 23rd. It wasn’t easy for Cardona as he was badly cut during the course of the match as De Lander accidently hit him in the head with the Universal Title. The cut was made worse when Itoh ran a pizza cutter across the forehead of Cardona a few times. Itoh came close to winning on a few occasions with a couple of near falls.

The end came when De Lander interfered and hit a few big moves on Itoh, placed Cardona on Itoh, revived the ref who had been knocked out earlier in the match and he made the three count.
