WWE Had No Plans For A RKBro Union Upon Randy Orton’s Return From Injury

One of the more surprising tag team pairings in recent WWE history was the combination of Randy Orton and Matt Riddle, who were collectively known as RKBro. The team saw a lot of success in a short period of time, as the duo captured the RAW Tag Team Titles. However, the team would put on hold after an injury to Randy Orton forced him out of action for a considerable amount of time.

It was exclusively reported by us here at Bodyslam.net last week that Randy Orton has been at the WWE Performance Center for weeks training ahead of a planned return to the ring. This left many wondering if there were plans for the former RAW Tag Team Champions to reunite once Orton made his return.

However, the first wave of WWE releases of the Endeavour Era took place earlier this week, as the company released employees both behind the scenes and on screen.

Probably the biggest name to be released was Matt Riddle. Although, this news came as no surprise to many as he had been involved in a recent incident at JFK Airport, as well as being sent to rehab after it was said he failed another drug test. Riddle’s termination put any hope of a future RKBro reunion, but according to a new report it appears via Ringside News there were never plans for the tag team upon the inevitable return of Randy Orton.

“Ringside News reached out to inquire about possible plans for Matt Riddle after his release. Of course, many fans were wondering if his firing nixed an RKBro reunion. That being said, there was never a plan to begin with. We were told by a tenured member of the creative team that there was never any talk of getting that team back together.”
