Kurt Angle Talks Questionable Booking During His Time In TNA

Kurt Angle had some critiques about the way he was utilized in TNA whil he was injured.

On the latest episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, Angle speaks about his time in TNA Wrestling in 2008. During the podcast, the topic of his well-being is addressed, and Kurt Angle says he was never fully 100%, but he was in good shape at the time.

“My body wasn’t bad at this point in time. I mean, I was never 100% healthy. But I was always able to work around injuries. I didn’t have a lot of major injuries at this time. I think my neck was a little messed up. Not too bad, but it was bothering me a little bit. That’s about it,” said the Olympic gold medalist.

Paul Bromwell, the co-host of the podcast, then asked if Kurt preferred working in multi-man matches while he was hurt, to which he said he does and feels like TNA could have done a better job of booking him in more tag team scenarios during times when he was hurt.

“WWE, when I got injured and was hurt, they would book me in tag matches quite a bit at house shows, live events. IMPACT Wrestling, they didn’t do it so much. They probably should have done it more than they did, but I never asked for it,” Kurt said.“I think as a booker, you should know, ‘Okay. Kurt’s a little banged up. Why don’t we put him in some tag matches for a little while?’ So I think it’s really the booker’s responsibility. It’s not on me to have to speak up and say, ‘Hey, I’m hurt. Put me in some tag matches.’ I think it’s really up to the booker to do that, and that’s his responsibility.”
