Shelton Benjamin receives high praise from Eric Bischoff.
Last week, Shelton Benjamin was released as part of mass talent cuts in the wake of the TKO Group merger.
Benjamin was a former tag team champion in his latest run and was viewed as one of the most athletic superstars of his generation during his first run with the promotion.
Eric Bischoff commented on Benjamin’s release during a recent episode of the Strictly Business podcast.
“He’s genuinely one of the nicest, most professional, talented, and gifted people I’ve ever worked with. That one surprises me because Shelton is one of those guys, you can put him up on the shelf and you can just keep him there in inventory, take him out and plug him into any scenario you felt he needed at that moment, and he would overdeliver. He’s such a great performer, such a pro. He and [Dolph Ziggler], they are the ultimate professional wrestling utility players because they can do it all,”

It is unknown what will come next for Shelton, but he is currently subject to a 90 day non compete clause following his release.
