Matt Riddle Received Heat In WWE For Going Off Script And Detailing Randy Orton’s Injury During TV Interview
Matt Riddle drew some serious heat in WWE for going off script.
Riddle has been under fire recently, especially due to his recent incident at JFK airport on the way back from Superstar Spectacle in India.
In the last 10 days, many talent have been released from their WWE contract including the likes of Mustafa Ali and Dolph Ziggler, which surprised many fans. Last Friday, Matt Riddle was also let go from the promotion.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Matt Riddle got heat in WWE for going off-script during a live promo where he would go into detail about Randy Orton’s back injury.
“Riddle also had heat with management at one point right after that for going off the script and putting over Orton on a live television interview when talking about how much pain Orton was in during the latter stages of their team and before the injury angle was shot. While praised for the promo going behind the scenes and being real, it was not what was scripted for him. His role after that point was being a popular babyface who had good matches, played his naive stoner gimmick, but was mostly there to put over the pushed heels such as a program where he continually lost to Gunther.”
