At the stroke of midnignt, Sami Callihan officially became a free agent.
Fightful Select has the report:
“Sami Callihan is officially a free agent as of midnight.
After years with IMPACT Wrestling, Callihan is now gone from the company in which he became a world champion in. We’re told there doesn’t appear to be any ill will from either side, but a deal was not reached, and Callihan left.
Callihan has people pushing for him within All Elite Wrestling, namely Jon Moxley, who has long maintained a great relationship with Callihan.
We’ve heard Sami’s name tossed around in producer roles for other companies as well, as he’s met success running Pro Wrestling Revolver as well.
We’ll be speaking with Sami this week.” – Fightful Select
Speaking of Jon Moxley, he and Sami Callihan are both part of a tag team that they pair up as every once in awhile called the Switchblades. Mox is a former AEW World Champion and a former AEW International Champion, and Callihan is a former IMPACT World Champion.
Sami also runs his own promotion called Pro Wrestling Revolver, which is one of the top premiere independent companies in existence today. Jon Moxley is the biggest star who still appears for the company.
Sami teamed up with Rich Swann just this past Thursday night on Before The IMPACT (BTI) to take on the team of Black Taurus and a Laredo Kid. Callihan and Swann won when Sami hit Laredo Kid with a Death Valley Driver (DVD), and Swann immediately followed it up with a 450 Splash off the middle rope.
With so much interest, it should be very interesting to see where Sami ends up.
