Former All Japan Women’s Pro Wrestling (AJW) and WWF star Dump Matsumoto’s story is set to be told on Netflix in 2024. The official Japanese Netflix account posted the announcement, followed by screenshots regarding Matsumoto’s storied career.
The official synopsis:
Professional female wrestler Dump Matsumoto, who achieved fame in the 1980’s. As a young woman, Dump Matsumoto hoped to become a successful professional wrestler while playing a good character. She got fired from her job and makes the fateful decision to perform as an evil character.

With the recent run of “The Wrestlers”, featuring Al Snow and the modern OVW promotion, it appears that Netflix is buying into the burgeoning boom period for professional wrestling, including covering a joshi legend such as Dump Matsumoto. Previously, Netflix had their brief hit series, GLOW.
