On October 28th in Las Vegas, Shingo Takagi will be challenging Tama Tonga for the NEVER Openweight Championship in the main event of the NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed event.
Shingo Takagi will be looking to win the NEVER Openweight Title for the third time in his career. While he has vowed to win the belt on October 28th, he has also expressed an interest in facing three top names in the world of professional wrestling in singles matches.
While speaking with Tokyo Sports, Takagi indicated that he would like to step into the ring with Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi and Katsuhiko Nakajima.
[Ibushi is] has a record of one win and one loss, and his fight at the Tokyo Dome in July [2021] has already been postponed. He also said that it’s not zero possibility. I myself have a strong desire to fight Kenny [Omega]. In all my matches, that tense atmosphere against Nakajima was the best this year. Even though I won, it was only once, and they have more wins than me, with a singles record of one win and two losses.

Takagi was set to face Kota Ibushi at NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam in July 2021 but Ibushi had to pull ut of the match due to being diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia.
