Backstage News On WWE Nixing Karrion Kross Plans, Praise For Scarlett & Shotzi

Karrion Kross has not wrestled a televised match since losing to AJ Styles on the August 11th Smackdown. He lost to Drew McIntyre in a dark match on September 1st, and has worked six live event matches – two losses to Ricochet, two wins over Butch, two losses to Santos Escobar. At one point Kross was set to return to WWE TV this past Friday on Smackdown, but that did not happen.

Kross, Scarlett and Shotzi were initially scheduled for a backstage segment on Friday’s Smackdown, which was taped on October 27th due to WWE traveling to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel. The segment was listed on the run sheets given to agents and producers, but Fightful reports that the segment was never even filmed.

WWE sources noted that the backstage segment would not have made sense for almost anyone involved, and that it was nixed very early in the day on October 27th. The change in plans was not relayed to some people, and that’s why the segment still made it onto run sheets, and was still scheduled for the double taping as of 7pm ET that night.

The miscommunication did not cause any major issues for timing as this was a taped show and things were easily adjusted.

There is still no word on any upcoming plans for Kross.

On a related note, word is that several people in WWE are happy with how Scarlett and Shotzi hosted NXT Halloween Havoc, and with their new web series – Chamber of Horrors. You can see a playlist of their episodes below:
