DDT Pro-Wrestling KO-D Openweight Champion Yuki Ueno Wants To Defend Title Against KONOSUKE TAKESHITA
On November 12th, Yuki Ueno defeated Chris Brookes to capture the DDT Pro-Wresting KO-D Openweight Championship for the first time in his career.
The following day, a press conference was held as Yuki Ueno addressed the media for the first time as the new champion. During the press conference, Ueno praised former champion Chris Brookes and expressed his desire to defend the KO-D Openweight Championship against KONOSUKE TAKESHITA.
Yesterday we had a lot of people watching, and there were a lot of players from various organizations and overseas. I wanted you to see the different faces of DDT. I’m very happy to hear people say that it was fun. I think Chris and I were able to fight together in the main event and show what KING OF DDT is, and I think we were able to show what we wanted to convey. I’m proud to see that it was connected, and I’m happy that it was a tournament. I think I was able to get to the point where I couldn’t have been the champion because Chris was the champion, and because Chris met me, I think I was able to become a wrestler who could be the champion of the KO-D heavyweight division. I’m going to fight Chris dozens or hundreds of times in the future, and I’m going to fight for this belt and show DDT, and I think I’ve learned something very important to be able to beat a fighter like that. One of my main goals is for TAKESHITA to take on the challenge and for me to win and defend it. I’m also aiming to win the D King (opening at Korakuen on November 26) at the earliest, nominate Takeshita, and have him come to Japan from the United States to compete.
