Gunther says he has outgrew the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Next up for the Intercontinental Champion is The Miz, who won a fatal four way number one contenders match to earn the opportunity. The match will take place at Survivor Series in Chicago later this month.
Gunther has held the title for over 500 days and has remained a dominant champion despite the length of the reign.
Gunther recently told Steve Fall of WrestlingNewsCo that he believes he has outgrew the Intercontinental Championship.
“I think there’s a ranking system and everything for a reason. I think it’s quite obvious that I outgrew the Intercontinental Championship already, I am ready to make that next step.”

We will have to wait and see if Gunther will be able to keep hold of the title for much longer, but he certainly feels he is nearing a time where he must move on from the championship.
