Jey Uso Talks Going After WWE Intercontinental Title, Puts Gunther On Notice
Jey Uso has his sights set on singles gold. Specifically, the WWE Intercontinental Title.
In an interview with Billboard, Jey said:
“The first singles championship on the top of my list is the IC [Intercontinental Championship] title. Gunther gonna have to run that. Everybody over there. He likes the Tribal Chief, you see what I do to the Tribal Chief? I don’t give a damn, let’s run that. My dad was an IC champion, my uncle, Umaga IC champion. Shawn Michaels. My favorite wrestler, the greatest, Razor Ramon. All the greats held the Intercontinental Championship and I’m trying to get that. That’s Pay-Per-View material right there.”
H/T Jeremy Lambert from Fightful.
The current Intercontinental Champion is Gunther, who passed 500 days as champion back in October. Gunther is set to take on The Miz this Saturday Night at Survivor Series.
Jey Uso is taking part in the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series on Saturday, teaming up with Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and Randy Orton to take on Judgement Day (Finn Balor, Damien Priest, JD McDonaugh, Dominik Mysterio) & Drew McIntrye.
Jey Uso taking on Gunther would most likely be a great match that many fans want to see. We’ll have to tune in to find out if it ever comes to fruition.
