GHC Heavyweight Title Challenger Manabu Soya Weighs In On NOAH “THE NEW YEAR” 2024 Main Event Controversy, Says It’s Frustrating

Pro Wrestling NOAH’s biggest show of the year takes place on January 2nd 2024 as the promotion presents NOAH “THE NEW YEAR” 2024 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

The match between AEW star Kota Ibushi and Naomichi Marufuji has been named the main event of the show by Cyberfight Director Narihiro Takeda. The decision did not sit well with many fans who felt that the GHC Heavyweight Title match between champion Kenoh and challenger Manabu Soya should be the main event of NOAH “THE NEW YEAR” 2024.

The GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh voiced his displeasure with the decision on social media and yesterday Cyberfight Director Narihiro Takeda explained why he made the decision.

Yesterday, the GHC Heavyweight Title challenger Manabu Soya called the decision to make Kota Ibushi vs Naomichi Marufuji the main event and not his match against GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh “very frustrating”. He also called on Kenoh for them to make their match more spectacular than the main event at NOAH “THE NEW YEAR” 2024.

The GHC title match is not the main event, very frustrating. But it doesn’t matter the order of the matches to reach the spectacular view. Let’s show the fans a view more awesome than the main event, Kenoh!

Cyberfight Director Narihiro Takeda stated yesterday that it was not the intention of Kota Ibushi or Naomichi Marufuji to make their match the main event but the decision was solely his and his alone.

NOAH “THE NEW YEAR” 2024 will stream live on Wrestle Universe on January 2nd 2024.
