Alex Hammerstone Reveals MLW One Shot Was His Last Date With The Company, Becomes Free Agent On January 1st
Alex Hammerstone has wrestled his last match with MLW and will test the free agent waters in 2024.
Back in October, it was reported that Alex Hammerstone has requested his release from Major League Wrestling. Hammerstone provided an update, which basically confirmed the reports that he had requested his release. But his status with MLW was still unknown, as he was not being used on any events and had not been released from his contract.
Hammerstone made a surprise return when he appeared at MLW’s Fightland event earlier this month, which saw him join MSL’s World Titan Federation stable. Hammerstone would comment on his return, and status with MLW, stating:
“Mister St. Laurent helped get my release from MLW, under the condition I join the WTF for the remainder of 2023… And offer my services however they see fit.”
Alex Hammerstone worked last night’s MLW One Shot PPV and Fusion TV tapings (airdate 12/24/23). He competed as part of MSL’s Bodybuilding Competition, which he won. He then cut a promo, which lead to a Jacob Fatu interrupting and attacking Hammerstone further setting up their upcoming match later that night as part of the Fusion TV tapings.

Alex Hammerstone, along with MSL, was defeated by Jacob Fatu during last nights MLW Fusion TV taping that took place before and after MLW’s One Shot PPV. This would apparently be Hammerstone’s final match with Major League Wrestling.
Hammerstone posted a statement on social media this morning, he commented on his match at MLW One Shot, confirming that it would be his last with the company under his current contract, as he has finished his 2023 commitments to Major League Wrestling. He added that he officially becomes a free agent on January 1st, 2024 and provided his contact info for booking inquiries.
“Last night was my last event under my current contract.
January 1st I will officially be a free agent.

We will have to wait and see what the future holds for the former MLW World Heavyweight Champion, and former MLW National Openweight Champion Alex Hammerstone when he tests free agency in 2024, as he is surely to garner interest from numerous companies.
