On the December 8th episode of WWE SmackDown, the match between Charlotte Flair and Asuka ended abruptly after Flair suffered a legitimate injury to her knee.
During the Charlotte Flair and Asuka match on SmackDown, Charlotte appeared to have suffered an injury in a top rope spot gone wrong. Video circulated on Twitter/X showing Charlotte and Asuka standing on the top rope, the two then seemed to slip and lose their balance and tumble hard to the mat. Charlotte unfortunately appeared to have caught her leg/knee on the top rope during the fall. She was able to finish the match, losing to Asuka thanks to help from Damage CTRL member Bayley.
Following the match, Charlotte was heard to be yelling “my knee” while she was helped to the back by WWE officials. You can see footage of the spot where she appeared to have suffered the knee injury below.
WWE pulled Charlotte Flair from this past weekend’s WWE Live Holiday Tour events that she had previously been advertised for. The most recent update from PWInsider noted that some withing WWE are extremely concerned that Charlotte Flair’s knee injury could be fairly serious.
We will keep you updated as more information about Charlotte Flair’s status after suffering what appears to be a fairly serious knee injury on last week’s SmackDown.
