Update On Charlotte Flair’s Injury Status, Could Be Out Of Action For Months
Charlotte Flair suffered what is thought to be a “fairly serious” injury on the December 8th, 2023 episode of WWE SmackDown.
The injury occurred when Charlotte and Asuka both tumbled off the top rope to the mat, with Charlotte catching her leg/knee on the top rope on the way down. Charlotte was able to finish the match, but the finish came rather abruptly and saw Flair lose to Asuka thanks to help from Damage CTRL member Bayley. WWE Officials were quick to check on Charlotte post match, but she was heard to be yelling “my knee!” as she was being helped to the back.
Charlotte Flair’s injury caused her to be pulled from all WWE’s Live Holiday Tour events over the weekend. PWInsider has another update on Charlotte Flair, they have reported that she has returned home to Florida, and has been pulled off the road until WWE is able to confirm the nature of her injury, which they are currently working on setting up.
“PWInsider.com has confirmed that Charlotte Flair has returned home to Florida.
WWE sources have indicated that she is not expected back in the ring until she is completely evaluated medically. She has been pulled off the road until the company gets confirmation on the nature of the injury. We are told the company is working on setting that up right now.”
While initial belief within WWE is that the injury to Charlotte Flair is “fairly serious,” it looks like she could potentially be out of action for “months” according to a new report from Jake Skudder of Fight Fans. He indicated that after speaking to multiple sources Flair’s injury is indeed serious, and will be keeping her out of action for the foreseeable future.
“WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair recently sustained an injury during last week’s episode of SmackDown, and from what we have been told it is looking like she will be out for “months.”
We were initially told about the injury to Flair on Saturday, with our source on this situation indicating that she would be out for quite some time. After digging further, we were able to determine through another that Flair’s situation is indeed serious and she will be out of action for the foreseeable future.
As it stands, we have only been able to clarify through two different people regarding her situation, so we’re treating this as a rumour at this point until we’re able to establish exactly what her situation is.”
It looks like WWE will be without Charlotte Flair for the remainder of the year, and could potentially be out of action for months. We will keep you updated if we hear more news about Charlotte Flair’s injury status, the extent of her injury, and any timetable for her return.
