We have an update on Charlotte Flair’s condition, and it isn’t good.
On the December 8th episode of WWE SmackDown, Charlotte Flair suffered a knee injury during her match with Asuka. The injury occurred when Charlotte and Asuka both tumbled off the top rope to the mat, with Charlotte catching her leg/knee on the top rope on the way down.
Charlotte was able to finish the match, but the finish came rather abruptly and saw Flair lose to Asuka thanks to help from Damage CTRL member Bayley. WWE Officials were quick to check on Charlotte post match, but she was heard to be yelling “my knee!” as she was being helped to the back.
WWE removed Flair from this past week’s scheduled Live Events, and the thought internally was that the injury was “fairly serious,” and that she could potentially be miss months due to injury. Unfortunately, that appears to be the case.
WWE announced that the injury Charlotte Flair suffered last week, will require surgery to repair her injured knee, which will keep Flair out of action for roughly 9 months.
“BREAKING: Due to a knee injury that will require surgery,
@MsCharlotteWWE will be out of action for approximately 9 months. More details to come.”
We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about Charlotte Flair’s knee injury, her upcoming surgery, and if there is an update on a timetable for her return.
