WWE’s Internal Feelings About A Potential Goldberg Retirement Match
Who’s next for Goldberg? Not WWE, apparently.
Goldberg has been in headlines again lately after he recently appeared on “Steve & Captain Evil: The Podcast” and talked about being lied to by Vince McMahon about the deal between them for him to wrestle his retirement match with WWE. According to Goldberg, McMahon promised him a retirement match if he would return to the company and put over Roman Reigns.
Goldberg would make his WWE return, and would lose to Roman Reigns at the 2022 Elimination Chamber PPV in Saudi Arabia. But the promised retirement match for Goldberg would never come.
“I owe him everything, until we went to Saudi Arabia and he asked me to put Roman Reigns over, and I had COVID. I remember calling him from my house and said, ‘Listen, here is the deal. I’ll do it if you give me a retirement match.’ I did what he asked. As a performer, I was 56 years old. As a human being, you’re conscientious about how you look in a bathing suit, especially two months prior to being in that bathing suit, you couldn’t work out because you had COVID. I put myself in a horribly sh*tty situation to get what I wanted to, but to satiate him and give him what he wanted.”
This has sparked conversation again about a potential retirement match for the WWE Hall of Famer, and for whom a potential final Goldberg match might take place. And it looks like we can take one potential company off the table.
According to a report from Ringside News, there have been no discussions within WWE about another potential return for Golberg.
“Ringside News has received 100% confirmation after speaking to sources in WWE that Goldberg is never talked about. There is no discussion about his return to the company at all.”

We will let you know if we hear anything more about a potential retirement match for Goldberg.
