WWE NXT Star Charlie Dempsey Arrives In Japan For AJPW debut

WWE NXT star Charlie Dempsey has arrived in Japan ahead of his December 31st debut for All Japan Pro-Wrestling.

It was revealed on December 23rd that the winner of the December 31st Triple Crown Championship match between champion Katsuhiko Nakajima and challenger Kento Miyahara will be defending the Triple Crown Title on January 3rd against a WWE NXT star. William Regal announced that it would be his son Charlie Dempsey who would be heading to AJPW for that title shot on January 3rd.

Charlie Dempsey will be making his AJPW debut on December 31st as he teams with Yuma Anzai to take on the team of the legendary Tatsumi Fujinami & LEONA. Dempsey’s dad, William Regal made his debut in Japan in a tag match with Tatsumi Fujinami on the opposing team as well.

Charlie Dempsey commented to Tokyo Sports on his father facing Tatsumi Fujinami and being excited to compete in AJPW:

I have studied All Japan by repeatedly watching videos from around the 1970s. I especially like the 90s, when Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi were active. I am excited to be able to compete in that All Japan this time. My father also made his debut in Japan in a tag team match with Fujinami. I feel it is my destiny to make my debut in Japan in a tag team match with Fujinami as well.
