A new All Japan Pro-Wrestling Jr Heavyweight Champion has been crowned.
The AJPW Jr Battle of Glory 2023 tournament winner Dan Tamura defeated GLEAT star El Lindaman on December 31st at #ajpwMANIAX 2023 at the Yoyogi National Stadium to capture the AJPW Jr Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career.
El Lindaman, who was defending the AJPW Jr Heavyweight Title for the fifth time, fell victim to a Dan Tamura Powerbomb which caused him to lose the match and his title.
Dan Tamura commented backstage after the match on becoming the new champion:
I won the belt! It took me about four years. It took me about four years to win the belt. I was always one step away from winning the belt, and then I lost it, and finally on this New Year’s Eve, I won the belt. I am very happy.”
