Richard Holiday: The Timing Was Right On MLW Return, They Need Someone To Take Down Alex Kane And I’m The Perfect Person To Do It
Richard Holiday felt the timing was perfect for him to return to MLW.
From 2018 to 2023, Holiday was a big part of MLW, he would announce his departure in April of that year. He was also out of action from June 2022 to June 2023 as he fought and defeated Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Holiday would make his return to MLW’s event One Shot where he confronted Alex Kane, the MLW World Heavyweight champion.
Speaking to Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds, Holiday went into detail as to why he decided a return was the right thing for him.
“It was well documented that when it was announced that I was done with MLW, that leaving was completely amicable; the door was 100% wide open, so if a door is open, why not walk through it? The timing was right. Everything seemed to make sense. The World Titan Federation needed somebody who could takedown Alex Kane, and I was the perfect person to do it. So, on the 6th of January at Kings of Colosseum, you guys are interviewing the future MLW World Heavyweight Champion. In just a few days, I’ll have that gold around my waist and carry the banner of the WTF along with it,” he stated.
Holliday will compete in his first match back in MLW at Kings of Colosseum on Jan. 6 when he challenges Alex Kane for the MLW World Heavyweight Title.
