Michael Cole Makes Surprise Announcement
The show begins and Pat McAfee’s music hits. McAfee sits down next to Michael Cole on commentary and Cole announces that McAfee will join him (Cole) every Monday night for WWE RAW.
CM Punk Gives Update on Injury
CM Punk makes his way down to the ring, with his right arm in a sling. Punk says WrestleMania 40 is no longer in his cards after tearing his triceps during this past weekend’s ‘Royal Rumble’ premium live event. Punk says he doesn’t want anybody to feel bad for him and the real ‘Best in the World’ are the people like his buddy, Chad, who has cancer and has to fight his battle in front of his wife and daughter.
Drew McIntyre interrupts and out comes the former WWE Champion. McIntyre says while he wasn’t happy to see Punk back in WWE, he can relate to Punk’s injury and having a close friend battling an awful disease. McIntyre says he’s happy that Punk got injured and he was targeting him during the rumble match. McIntyre cheap shots Punk, who fights back, but the triceps injury is too much to overcome.
Sami Zayn rushes down to the ring and attacks McIntyre, who flees out of the ring. Zayn helps Punk to his feet, as do many members of WWE personnel, and the segment ends.

Seth Rollins Tells Cody Rhodes to Consider Him For WrestleMania 40
Cody Rhodes makes his way down to the ring. Cody asks Samantha Irvin to repeat her introduction of him as a two-time Men’s Royal Rumble Match winner just because he loved hearing it so much and Samantha obliges. Cody asks everyone what they’d like to talk about and the topic of conversation tonight is Roman Reigns. Cody says it’s time to make WrestleMania 40 official…but here comes Seth Rollins.
The WWE World Heavyweight Champion says he understands why Cody feels like he wants to avenge his loss against WWE Champion, Roman Reigns after what happened during WrestleMania 39’s main event. Rollins says he feels that Cody should face him at WrestleMania 40 instead of having a rematch with Roman. Rollins says he has the workhorse title, something Cody helped build during their rivalry after his return at WrestleMania 38. Rollins says the title Dusty Rhodes would go after is his title, not Roman’s.
Cody looks extremely emotional and says due to how much respect he has for Rollins, that he’ll think about it, before making his exit.
