John Cena Responds to Vince McMahon Allegations: There’s a Long Way to Go, I’m Going to Love The Person That I Love
John Cena has made his first public comments about the allegations against Vince McMahon.
It’s public knowledge that 16-time WWE World Champion, John Cena has said he owes his career to Vince McMahon. However, a lot can change when you find out the skeletons in some of your heroes’ closets…but that doesn’t appear to be the case for Cena when it comes to the now-former WWE Chairman following the heinous allegations against him…at least yet.
When appearing on the ‘Howard Stern Show‘ Cena said he’s going to let the investigation play out and will continue to love Vince McMahon in the meantime:
“I don’t think it’s complicated to talk about. It’s complicated to listen to. That’s why I don’t necessarily put a lot of time and equity into it.
There’s still a long way to go. I can say this, I’m a big advocate of love and friendship and honesty, and communication, in the same breath, I’m also a big advocate of accountability. If someone’s behavior lies so far outside of your value system that the balance shifts of, ‘I can’t operate in a world where this works.’ That’s the end result of being accountable.
Right now, I’m gonna love the person I love, be their friend. ‘I love you, you have a hill to climb.’ There is the saying of, ‘You don’t know who your friends are until shit hits the fan or your back is against the wall.’
That doesn’t make any of what’s going on any easier to swallow. Just telling someone you love them, it’s a hill to climb, and we’ll see what happens.’”

In case you missed it — Vince McMahon tendered his resignation from his spot as Executive Chairman of TKO Group following the Wall Street Journal revealing a lawsuit against the now former Chairman, stemming from the alleged sexual assault and trafficking of former WWE employee, Janel Grant.
In addition to McMahon, Brock Lesnar (indirectly), and former Head of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis were also implicated in the lawsuit.
A Chicago-based law firm has launched a campaign for alleged victims to come forward and potentially receive compensation for what they’ve endured, more information on that campaign can be found by clicking here.
Vince McMahon is currently under federal investigation for the allegations.
BodySlam will continue to provide any updates on the status of Vince McMahon as they become available.
