Bodyslam.Net Exclusive: An Interview With Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Rising Star Yu Owada
Pro Wrestling NOAH’s rising star Yu Owada made his professional wrestling debut back on July 15th, 2023 in a match against Kai Fujimura. Ever since his debut, the fans were clearly able to see that there was something very special about the talented Owada. He has been referred to as the future of NOAH by KENOH which is quite an endorsement for Owada.
Owada is currently teaming with KENOH in the NOAH Victory Challenge Tag League Tournament which is in full swing. The team came together following a singles match between the two on February 8th in which KENOH was victorious. Backstage following the encounter, KENOH chose Owada as his partner for the tag league. KENOH has stated that Owada has grown a lot in the tag league and this is just the beginning for the future star.
Despite his current busy schedule in the tag league, Owada graciously answered a number of questions from Bodyslam.net as we discussed the tag league, Being called the future of NOAH, If he has an excursion coming up, His goals and so much more.
Here is Bodyslam.net’s exclusive interview with Yu Owada:
Q: How has the experience been teaming with KENOH in the Pro Wrestling NOAH
Victory Challenge Tag League?
Yu Owada: It’s tough to be in the Victory Challenge Tag League and to be able to fight against players I don’t usually fight against, and tough to be in a tag team with KENOH, but it’s a lot of fun.
Q: How do you feel teaming with KENOH will help you improve as a wrestler?
Yu Owada: I won’t give up until the end, and I will be hungry to win.
Q: You have been called the future of Pro Wrestling NOAH by many people, do you believe
that you are the future of NOAH?
Yu Owada: I don’t know if I am the future, but I would like to lead NOAH someday.
Q: Do you expect to go on your excursion soon and do you have a preferred location?
Yu Owada: No plan, but I want to compete at a big venue such as Nippon Budokan.
Q: How proud were you when you earned your first win as a wrestler against Taishi Ozawa
on January 2 nd 2024?
Yu Owada: Honestly, I’m happy to have finally won a singles match after losing many times.
Q: How do you feel you have matured as a wrestler since your debut back in July 2023?
Yu Owada: I still have a long way to go, but I think I am getting better at putting on matches that will
make the hearts of the people who support me a little more passionate.
Q: Which match would you call your toughest since you made your debut?
Yu Owada: February 28, 2024, the KENOH & myself vs. Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa match.
Q: What is your main goal while you are competing in Pro Wrestling NOAH?
Yu Owada: I want to win the GHC belt, of course, but I also want to be known as the face of NOAH,
even without the belt.
Q: When you feel you are ready, which is the first championship that you would like to
challenge for?
Yu Owada: The GHC Heavyweight Tag Team belts with KENOH, who I’m currently tag-teaming
with.
Q: What message do you have for the fans that have been supporting you?
Yu Owada: Thank you for all of your support. Your support gives me the strength to fight with all my
might to the end without giving up. Thank you for your continued support, always.
