Paul Heyman Reveals He Turned Down Hall Of Fame Induction Several Times Before Accepting It In 2024
Paul Heyman makes his first comments following the news of his induction.
On the March 4 edition of Monday Night Raw, the news was officially broken that Paul Heyman would be getting his long-awaited induction into WWE’s class of 2024 Hall of Fame.
Speaking with Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post, Heyman revealed that he turned down the induction several times before finally accepting it in 2024.
“It’s taken me all these decades to figure this business out and the art of presentation to an audience, so while I hate to use the old cliche of, ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet, and I’m just getting started,’ … You ain’t seen nothing yet, and I’m just getting started,” he said. “I don’t want a lifetime achievement award when I’m not done achieving things. I still have a lot of other work I want to do in this industry. I want to be involved in the first main event of WrestleMania in Havana, or on the moon, or on Mars when Elon Musk colonizes it. These are things that are going to happen in the future and I desperately want to be a part of it.”
The induction will happen the night before WrestleMania 40 and it’ll be a full-circle moment for Heyman as the event takes place in Philadelphia, the home of ECW which was an influence for Heyman to finally accept his induction.
