Will Ospreay Praises Konosuke Takeshita: I Can’t Do Those Types Of Matches Without A Great Partner
WOAH-OH! We’re so elevated!
At AEW Revolution, Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita tore the house down for 22 minutes in one of the best matches of the year, in the end, it was Ospreay who walked away with the huge win in his first official match as a contracted wrestler to All Elite Wrestling.
During AEW’s post-media scrum for Revolution, this is what Ospreay had to say about his bout against Takeshita where he praised them for giving their all in their match.
“I’ve got a lot to top now, haven’t I? Once again, I can’t do those type of matches without a great partner to do it with. Takeshita is every bit as good as Will Ospreay. It’s just, on that night, I was just better, pure and simple. But look at the move that I had to put him away with, the Tiger Driver. I keep saying this so much, the Tiger Driver ‘91 is the most dangerous move in wrestling. It was used back in the day, but it is one of the most dangerous moves in wrestling, and some guys are able to kind of figure out a way of getting out of it, but it’s complete pressure on your neck, man. It’s a sheer drop. I wouldn’t be surprised if in like five months’ time, people will be like, ‘Hey, you can’t do that move anymore.’ But this is what I bring to the table, man. I am one of the most dangerous professional wrestlers in the world. Look, I am a lovely man. I will walk your mum across the street any day of the week. I will happily give you a cuddle if you’re ever feeling sad, I’m always a good shoulder to cry on, and I’ll look after you to the day I die, but I am one mean motherfucker when I want to be. Like I said, the most dangerous man in wrestling right now, bruv.”
Ospreay followed up the win by adding another on the March 6 edition of AEW Dynamite where he defeated ROH Television Champion Kyle Fletcher in a non-title match in the main event before being confronted by the ‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson.
