Michael Cole Says Under The New WWE Regime That There Is More Trust In Commentators
Michael Cole feels like things have been a lot looser since the new regime came in.
Michael Cole has been part of the WWE for over 25 years and has been a pivotal voice for over two decades from Friday Night SmackDown to Monday Night Raw.
In an interview with Chris Novak of Awful Announcing, Cole discussed the new WWE regime and why commentators like Corey Graves can be given more trust as commentators.
“It’s a different world,” Cole said. “Corey came in at a good time. Under the new regime now, things are looser. The direction’s different. There’s a lot more trust in commentators now than there was before. We are having the opportunity to be ourselves. Open up, develop character, call pro wrestling, sports entertainment, the way we want to. Corey was able to jump in under this new regime, and it was the perfect chance to make a switch. This was the time to do it.”
Cole was once again paired with Pat McAfee after the two were on Friday Night SmackDown, now the two are the voices of Monday Night Raw while Graves and Wade Barrett are the voices of SmackDown.
