Kenny Omega Says He Doesn’t Think He Needs Trilogy With Will Ospreay, Eyes Matches Against Samoa Joe And Swerve Strickland When Cleared To Return
Kenny Omega is unsure about running it back one last time with the Aerial Assassin.
At Wrestle Kingdom 17, Kenny Omega made his long-awaited return to Japan where he fought and defeated Will Ospreay to become the new IWGP United States Champion, but Omega would go on to lose it in his home of Canada against Ospreay at Forbidden Door 2 later on that year.
While discussing the match and his future, this is what Omega had to say on his Twitch.
“Will I complete the trilogy with Ospreay? I don’t know. I don’t know if it needs to be a trilogy. I just kind of go where I’m needed. Where the story takes me. Let’s say in a perfect world I am 100% or I can get myself to a degree where I can compete with these guys again. I think that Ospreay, it’s still fresh in my mind, but I haven’t wrestled Joe in close to 20 years, maybe a little less. There are a couple of other folks I need to get around to. I’ve never wrestled Swerve in a singles match. We had a couple of interactions in the UK, but never a singles. I could bring up two or three guys. We have such a huge roster,” said Omega.
Omega has been out of action after he was diagnosed with diverticulitis last December following a trip to the hospital.
