The prestigious All Japan Pro-Wrestling Champion Carnival 2024 is set to kick off on April 18th at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
AJPW revealed today that they have added two more participants to the tournament. Davey Boy Smith Jr has been added to Block A and Rei Saito has been confirmed for the B Block of the Champion Carnival 2024.
Smith Jr made his AJPW debut on December 31st 2023 as he teamed with Hokuto Omori & Minoru Suzuki as they defeated Suwama, Hideki Suzuki & Hikaru Sato. He made two more appearances for the promotion in early January 2024. This will be his debut in the Champion Carnival tournament.
Rei Saito dislocated his shoulder back on February 9th at the “70 Years of Pro-Wrestling” event at Korakuen Hall. Due to the dislocation, he had to pull out of Triple Crown Title match against champion Katsuhiko Nakajima and was forced to relinquish the AJPW World Tag Team Titles he held with his brother Jun. It is expected that Rei will be ready to go once the tournament begins.
