David Finlay Pulls Out Of New Japan Cup 2024 Quarterfinal Due To Illness Which Required Hospitalization

New Japan Pro-Wrestling star David Finlay was scheduled to face Hirooki Goto in a New Japan Cup 2024 quarterfinal match on March 16th at the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium. Unfortunately, Finlay started feeling ill prior to the event and was taken to a nearby hospital which was announced by NJPW. Finlay is currently undergoing tests to determine the cause of illness.

Finlay’s match against Goto was one of two tournament quarterfinal bouts that were set for March 16th. As Finlay had to pull out of the match, Goto will advance to the semifinals due to forfeit.

BREAKING

David Finlay will not compete tonight in Nagoya due to illness. He is currently undergoing evaluation at a local hospital. Hirooki Goto will advance to the semifinals via forfeit.
