Drew McIntyre: I’m Open To Facing CM Punk At SummerSlam, But I’m Worried For Him, He’s Made Out Of Glass
Drew McIntyre is open to a match with the voice of the voiceless.
At this past year’s Royal Rumble, the runner-up CM Punk suffered an injury towards the end of the match where he tore his tricep following a Future Shock DDT from Drew McIntyre, thus taking him out of action for the foreseeable future. Since then, it has been a running gag for McIntyre to poke fun at Punk’s injury.
In a conversation with The Gorilla Position, McIntyre spoke about the possibility of facing Punk at this year’s SummerSlam in Cleveland, Ohio.
“Yeah, I just hope he’s careful. I’m just worried he’s going to injure something else in rehab. The man is made of glass. I want that match. I really want that match. I’m just concerned for him, especially wrestling somebody like me, I’m a monster in there.”
CM Punk is scheduled to appear on the March 25 edition of Monday Night Raw while McIntyre is scheduled to battle WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins at WrestleMania 40.
