Jack Perry States NJPW Is A New Chapter Without Having To Pretend To Be Sorry For The Actions Of Other People, Doesn’t Need AEW
Back in August 2023 at AEW’s All In event, Jack Perry and CM Punk had a highly publicized confrontation that ultimately led to the release of Punk and the removal of Perry from AEW television. Perry appeared in New Japan Pro-Wrestling in January 2024 and has been a regular for the promotion ever since. Perry has aligned himself with the House of Torture faction and competed in the New Japan Cup Tournament.
In a new interview that is currently on the NJPW website, Perry was asked why he chose to come to NJPW to which he claimed that it’s new chapter in his career where he doesn’t have to pretend to apologize or be sorry for the actions of other people in an obvious reference to Punk and Tony Khan.
Well Japan for me is an opportunity, not to start over, but start a new chapter without having to apologise or pretend to be sorry for the actions of other people. It’s a way that I can stay true to myself and continue to grow despite everything that’s gone on.

Perry was asked about his last controversial moments with AEW:
I don’t need them. I will go by myself across the world, all by myself, without any of my friends, without any of the things I’m used to, anything that’s been my life for the last five years, and I’ll do it on my own, make my own way.

When asked directly if he was no longer with AEW and now with NJPW or a freelancer, Perry gave this answer:
Some of these things are unclear even to me, but I would say this- loyalty is a two way street, and I show loyalty to those who are loyal to me. As of now, certain parties have been very good to me, and I intend to repay that.

Jack Perry is set to team with Ren Narita on April 6th at NJPW Sakura Genesis 2024 as the face the tandem of Shota Umino & Jon Moxley.
