- Triple H kicks off the show. HHH thanks the WWE Universe for making WrestleMania 40 the biggest show in WWE history and introduces the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes. HHH shows Cody a special video package that production put together in honor of his career leading up to this point. Cody is visibly emotional and HHH makes his exit. After a lengthy promo, Cody is interrupted by The Rock, who asks Cody to hold the WWE Title. Cody hands The Rock his title but says he wants to hold The Rock’s custom title, to which Rock obliges. The pair take each other’s titles back and The Rock says the WWE Title fits perfectly on his shoulder. The Rock says Cody’s story ended with Roman Reigns ended at WrestleMania 40…but when he (The Rock) comes back, he’s coming for Cody and says their story has just begun. The Rock tells Cody that he better never break his heart again and hands ‘The American Nightmare’ something before making his exit.
