Cody Rhodes: In Sports And Entertainment, Roman Reigns Had The Greatest Championship Reign Of All Time
Cody Rhodes had this to say about the former king of WWE.
On night one of WrestleMania 40, in the main event it was Cody Rhodes and Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins falling flat against the unit of Roman Reigns and The Rock to make sure night two featured Bloodline Rules.
On night two, Rhodes defeated Reigns to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion and this is what he had to say about the historical reign on the WrestleMania XL press conference.
“A lot of people asked me, ‘what’s it going to feel like if you can beat the Tribal Chief, if you can beat Roman Reigns?’ I was honest in saying, ‘I don’t know.’ I’ve been able to be in the main event. There is a difference between being in the main event and being THE main event. Roman Reigns, obviously, he and I are not good friends, but that’s the greatest championship reign in sports and entertainment. As much as I don’t agree with his style and the way he went about being a champion, I still hope I can be half the champion that he was for WWE, as a leader, as the quarterback,” said Rhodes.
Rhodes was told on the Raw after WrestleMania that he would be seeing The Rock when the time was right. No word yet on whether these two will collide in a singles match soon.
