Shawn Michaels: If I Had One More WrestleMania Match In Me, My Opponent Would Be AJ Styles
Mr. WrestleMania would’ve loved to face the Phenomenal One.
Shawn Michaels retired from his in-ring career at WrestleMania 26 following a grueling rematch against the then-undefeated Undertaker in a Streak vs. Career match in the main event.
Despite coming out of retirement for one more match in Saudi Arabia alongside his best friend Triple H to face off against the Brothers of Destruction, it wasn’t the match that everyone wanted to see HBK in if he were to return to the ring.
During a conversation with Gorilla Position, this is who HBK said he would have loved to face if he had an opportunity for one more match at WrestleMania.
“I think the one we really want to see is me and AJ. That’s where I go with. It’s also as the more talent comes along, you start looking at them. I always, I still do it now. I look at it like, boy, I can do cool stuff with him. I can do cool stuff with him. But I think AJ, I think AJ and I can get similar styles and stuff like that. So I always feel like that would be one people would want to see. So I think that would be my go-to in this particular moment.”
Styles recently competed at WrestleMania 40 where he lost to LA Knight in Knight’s official WrestleMania debut match.
