It seems that one popular NXT Superstar may be a free agent soon. This comes as a surprise, because he’s been featured recently.
Fightful Select has reported that the wrestler currently known as Scrypts, and formerly as Reggie, is nearing the end of his contract with WWE. It is set to expire in early June. He has been notified that he will become a free agent once his current contract ends.
According to Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful, Scrypts, who is expected to adopt the ring name Sidney Akeem, intends to continue his wrestling career. He anticipated that his contract would not be renewed.
Scrypts is actively wrestling with NXT’s OTM faction and has a history of performing under a mask within the brand. He originally joined WWE in 2020 and was quickly brought up to the main roster, serving as Carmella’s valet under the name Reginald. His role evolved to include participation in the 24/7 title competitions. Later, he moved back to NXT, where he re-debuted as Scrypts on the episode aired on November 22, 2022.
He was also recently featured in a Snickers commercial alongside OTM and the Street Profits.
