Pete Dunne: It Would Be Fantastic To Face AJ Styles In A Singles Match, He’s A Big Inspiration For Me
Pete Dunne wants AJ Styles one-on-one.
Since getting back his name and reuniting with Tyler Bate. Things have been looking up for Pete Dunne as he looks to make 2024 and the future his proving ground. However, there is one name on his mind that’s a bucket list for him to go against.
While talking to Bill Apter for Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Dunne revealed that he hopes that he can face in a singles match, the ‘Phenomenal’ AJ Styles, someone he notes as a big inspiration for Dunne growing up.
“I think for me, he’s pretty jacked, but in the industry, he’s that undersized guy, but he has that attitude he talked about. He’s hostile in the ring, he’s aggressive, he had that. On top of that, he had all the flair stuff, the spiral tap, all the flips and that kind of stuff. He was just a big inspiration on me, and I wrestled him in a four-way recently, but obviously, I’d like to get that one-on-one match at some point, would be fantastic,” Dunne said.
Styles fought and lost to the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Backlash: France before losing to Randy Orton in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament.
