Mark Henry’s AEW Contract Is Expiring Very Soon
Several notable figures have departed AEW over the past year, and now a WWE Hall of Famer might be next.
According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, Mark Henry’s AEW contract is expected to expire this month. Henry, who signed with AEW in 2021, made his debut at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on May 30 of that year.
During his tenure with AEW, Henry has served in various roles, including analyst, coach, scout, and mentor. His on-screen presence has primarily been as an interviewer and personality on AEW Rampage. His multifaceted contributions have been valuable to the company, helping to shape new talent and provide insights from his extensive wrestling career.
In addition to his work with AEW, Henry is a regular on Busted Open Radio, where he shares his expertise and opinions on the wrestling industry. Despite his significant behind-the-scenes and media roles, fans have not seen Henry compete in the ring for several years. His last match was at WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018, and his last singles match took place in February 2017.
Throughout his career, Henry has occasionally teased the possibility of returning to the ring for one final match. However, he has expressed uncertainty about what conditions would be necessary to make that happen.
As his AEW contract approaches its expiration, the wrestling community is left wondering if this could signal a new chapter for the former World Heavyweight Champion, either within the ring or in a different capacity.
