Top AEW Stars May Be Banned From Forbidden Door Due To Political Reasons

AEW Forbidden Door is scheduled for June 30 at the UBS Arena, promising a thrilling night of wrestling action. However, some stars might be absent from the event due to political reasons within the wrestling world.

This year’s Forbidden Door event is set to feature stars from AEW, NJPW, STARDOM, and CMLL. The inclusion of CMLL presents a challenge for certain AEW stars, as they must navigate the delicate political landscape between CMLL and AAA.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer commented on the situation, explaining that Pentagon, Fenix, and others might not be able to participate in Forbidden Door if CMLL is involved. Meltzer said, “We’re getting STARDOM for sure, and I think we’re getting CMLL. The problem with CMLL is that Rush and Pentagon and Fenix and Komander, who we haven’t seen much lately, all of them wouldn’t be able to be at the show for political reasons.”

Meltzer noted the recent return of Death Triangle, emphasizing that Fenix and Penta are “just getting going” again. He acknowledged the complexities of the situation, stating, “That’s just the nature of the beast” when it comes to politics in pro wrestling.

The political dynamics between wrestling promotions often impact the availability of wrestlers for certain events. The tensions between CMLL and AAA mean that AEW stars associated with AAA might be excluded from participating in Forbidden Door if CMLL has any say in the matter.

Despite these challenges, Forbidden Door is expected to be a packed event, showcasing talent from multiple top wrestling promotions. Fans will have to wait and see how the political landscape affects the final lineup, but the event promises to deliver excitement regardless of the complications.

As the date approaches, the wrestling community will be watching closely to see how the situation unfolds. Forbidden Door remains one of the most anticipated events of the year, highlighting the collaboration and, at times, the friction between the world’s leading wrestling organizations.
