Adam Copeland Confirms Injury Status From AEW Double or Nothing Cage Match

At AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view, Adam Copeland, known as The Rated “R” Superstar, faced Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match. During the bout, Copeland attempted a high-risk dive from the top of the cage onto Black, who was positioned on a table below.

Unfortunately, Copeland landed awkwardly after leaping off the structure. While he continued the match, fans were concerned about possible injuries from the fall. Today, Copeland provided an update. THis was not good news coming from the TNT Champion.

In a pre-recorded message posted on X, Copeland revealed that he had suffered a fractured tibia. He explained that his confidence led to the injury, saying, “I’ve been feeling really good lately and having so much fun in the ring, and I got cocky… My brain forgets what my body always seems to remember late, which is that I’m 50, and I need to make better choices. So, my body pulled the emergency brake on me the other night, and I ended up fracturing my tibia, which is going to require surgery. I don’t know the time frame on that yet. I will find out the time frame next week…”

Copeland’s injury will require surgery, although the timetable for his recovery is currently unknown. Fans and fellow wrestlers are eagerly awaiting more details as he consults with his medical team.
