Arn Anderson Announces AEW Exit

Arn Anderson, a WWE Hall of Famer, has announced his departure from AEW once his contract expires on May 31.

In his statement on The ARN Show, Anderson reflected on his extensive career in professional wrestling and expressed his gratitude: “One thing people know is that I am very appreciative to have been in this business for 42 years. I’ve often said this business does not owe me anything, I owe it everything. Here at the tail end of my career, I’ve been very fortunate to work for AEW and Tony Khan for the last four years. He is a great human being, he’s taken the wrestling business and given it another option and a whole other category of what pro wrestling is perceived to be or can be or will be or has been, so I just wanted to thank everyone who worked there. They are all exceptionally great. Tony, we appreciate everything you’ve done for the business.”

Anderson also highlighted his future plans, focusing on his son Brock Anderson’s development: “The time I have left I want to spend with Brock, because I think Brock has the attitude and he will be a player for somebody. I’ve just got to get him some experience so that’s where I’m going to devote my time, helping to develop Brock and teaching him, and if he comes along like I think he will.”

Concluding his announcement, Anderson expressed his heartfelt thanks to AEW and its staff: “This coming May 31 is the last date on my contract, and I just want to say thank you. I appreciate everything, and that goes to everybody who works there. I just want to say thank you and see you down the road.”

Our own Cassidy Haynes also just dropped an exclusive about another high-profile AEW exit.

Anderson, who joined AEW after being fired from WWE, was let go from his long-time producer role at WWE after he infamously approved a match involving Alicia Fox, who was allegedly not sober at the time, during a WWE live event.

While AEW has recently signed new deals with several key talents, including MJF and The Elite, some individuals have decided to move on. Arn Anderson now joins Mark Henry among those departing AEW.
