This electrifying event is set to rock The Metro Theatre on Friday, June 14, 2024, and promises an unforgettable night of high-octane wrestling action. Anything goes at KING OF THE METRO RUMBLE. The stage is set at what many call Sydney’s home of rock n’ roll to welcome some of Australia’s most exciting wrestling talent in a dynamic concert-like atmosphere. The main event will see crowd favourite Jessica Troy defend her PWA Heavyweight Championship against South Australia’s fearsome Delta, marking the first-ever all-female heavyweight championship bout in Australia. Delta, who recently impressed at the WWE tryouts in Perth, is a star on a meteoric rise.
“As a fighting champion, I’m very excited for the PWA KING OF THE METRO and the opportunity to rip that big arm off Delta,” says the first female and current PWA Heavyweight Champion. “Come and watch me, the Granola Grappler Jessica Troy and the rest of the PWA crew do what we do best!”
The People’s Hero, Big Fudge, will also be seeking revenge on the heinous Ricky South, who nearly ended Fudge’s career last year by unmasking the brave lucha warrior who had worn the mask for over nine years. The winner of this bout will earn a coveted spot in the 30-person PWA Rumble, featuring the cream of Australian wrestling including interstate talent and surprise entrants.
The Tag Team belts are up for grabs in a no-holds-barred Sydney Street Fight. The reigning champions, Mick Moretti & Jimmy Townsend, known as The Joker & The Thief, will defend against the Illusive Belinda Pierce and the Street King, Aaron Jake. The rumour is that this intense showdown could spill outside the venue and into the Maccas on George Street.
KING OF THE METRO RUMBLE is set to be a sensational night of wrestling with will have fans leaving feeling as though they have been to a rock gig at the famous Sydney concert venue.
