Rey Mysterio Reveals When He Believes It’ll Be Time To Retire From Professional Wrestling
Rey Mysterio says he knows when it’ll be time to hang up the boots.
The career of Rey Mysterio has spanned over three decades, from WCW to WWE to the independent scene, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has created unforgettable memories and been able to continue his legacy with his son Dominik Mysterio keeping the family name going for many years to come.
During an episode of the Jaxxon podcast, Rey revealed that the main thing keeping him going is the jitters he gets when he’s about to step out of the curtains and to the ring. He also said that once he no longer feels that, that’s when it’ll be time for him to call it a career.
“Every night. Even when it’s non-televised, I still get that jittering feeling like, ‘Shit; I don’t want to fuck up. I want to make sure everything comes out right.’ I always tell myself, the day I no longer feel that, that’s the time to tap out,” he said.
Mysterio is set to go one-on-one with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest on the June 3 edition of Monday Night Raw.
