Chris Jericho has adopted numerous gimmicks throughout his over 30-year wrestling career, including roles as a Wizard, a List Maker, and a Rock n Roll God. Currently, he calls himself “The Learning Tree,” aiming to impart wisdom to both the AEW roster and viewers at home.

In an interview with TMZ, host Mike Babcock praised Jericho for remaining active and vibrant in 2024, suggesting that no one perceives him as slowing down. Jericho responded, “Haters would say that, which is where the Learning Tree gimmick came from. Just lean into it. I know, I can feel it. I know what I’m capable of. The last thing I would do is just be here for the sake of being here. That’s not my vibe.”

Jericho expressed his deep appreciation for AEW, stating, “I love working for AEW. It’s probably my most favorite time I’ve had in the business. We’re growing together. I consider AEW my company. I was here since day one. We just had our five-year anniversary. There is so much going on this year with the television deal and the biggest wrestling show of all time last summer at Wembley.”

He continued to reflect on AEW’s journey, saying, “There are so many cool milestones, and I feel like this is my band. I helped start this band, and I’m super proud of everything we’ve done as a result of it.” Jericho’s commitment to AEW is evident, and he is eager to contribute to its ongoing success.

AEW has numerous creative possibilities with Chris Jericho, who has embraced an over-the-top, cheesy babyface character disguised as a heel. This new persona comes on the heels of various backstage controversies, including NDAs and allegations concerning Kylie Rae’s departure from AEW, which recently went viral.

Jericho’s “Learning Tree” gimmick, performed alongside Big Bill, continues to captivate fans. As AEW moves forward, Jericho’s evolving character and enduring presence promise to keep audiences engaged and entertained.
